Hey there, Laurent taking over! Almost a month without a post is clearly not something we would recommend, but you know what? We’ve started working on some very exciting projects that will unfold later in the year. So, that’s forgivable 😳😅 Remember how Aline shared the story about her very first music job? Well, it’s now my turn… My first was for a label whose identity was kept a secret until the first interview was confirmed After spending 1 year studying sound engineering in London, DJing and working at a bar for 7£/hr, the opportunity finally knocked. I was recruited by Warner Music Group. I started out in the Artist & Label services division as, well, an artist services intern. I later became deeply interested in data, customer engagement, CRM, with some drops of e-commerce and eventually became the team's CRM Manager, helping to shape all campaigns outside the US. Major labels have the notoriety that allows them to hire some of the best talent out there and I was really lucky to have incredible bosses and colleagues. But after trips to LA, New York, Hamburg and Paris, staff parties with Nile Rodgers and bumping into Ed Sheeran & co. once in a while at the office, I wanted to slowly shift away from this high-performing corporate world. I left Warner and London to jump into a different, more grounding adventure with Norma Music, keeping all the knowledge, motivation and connections no other job probably has ever given to me! If you have any questions about major labels, don’t be shy, I know all the secrets 😝🧐 𝟏 December 2015, Recording drums at LSS - surrounded by what I love 𝟐 July 2016, Visit at @metropolisstudios with my pal @cristofeu 𝟑 September 2016, First day at the Warner Office in Kensington 𝟒 November 2017, DJing like there’s no tomorrow around east London 𝟓 September 2018, @nilerodgers with Chic playing at the yearly staff party 𝟔 October 2018, LA office with my boss then @itayrahat 𝟕 March 2019, Warner Music Germany with @ed_nights 𝟖 April 2019, NYC office on Broadway! #musicjob #warnermusic #majorlabel
